HMAS Otway, at 90-metres long, is one attraction you can’t miss (literally) when you visit Holbrook. Wander on and around the sub and then head inside the Holbrook Submarine Museum to find out how and why Holbrook is home to a life-sized submarine.As well as some amazing history, Holbrook also has some bespoke shopping experiences. A popular spot for a coffee and bite to eat is the 10 Mile Café. Housed in a 100-year-old building, which once operated as the local garage and mechanic’s workshop, 10 Mile has a focus on sustainability, using locally sourced and seasonal produce on the menu. Across the road from 10 Mile is the Satch & Co gallery. A life-long dream of owners’ Martha Satchell who grew up admiring her mother’s artworks as a water colour artist Satch & Co has a wide and eclectic range of artworks and art wares on display and for sale – showcasing local and Australian artists.

Walla Walla

Next, it's on to check out the views at Morgan’s Lookout. This landmark derives its name from an infamous Australian Bushranger.

About a 40 minute drive from Holbrook and you arrive at Morgan’s Lookout, just outside the village of Walla Walla. The lookouts namesake is Australian bushranger Dan Morgan – who is believed to have used this area as a vantage point to watch for approaching police. From the top of the viewing platform you can see why it would have been used as a vantage point. There’s amazing 360-degree views across the landscape from the top. As well as stunning vistas and some great history, this spot also has some picnic spots to sit and spend time at this space.
